Robin's Nest Design Post

My first post went up on the Robin's Nest Blog today!

When I received my package of Robin's Nest goodies in the mail this week, I could not wait to dive in and get creating. They make such beautiful papers (some with GLITTER on them!!), rubons, DEW DROPS, etc! Love it all. :)

This week I made a scrapbook layout to share with you.

My #1 scrapbooking technique is layering. No page is complete without a few layers!

First, I started off with an Instagram picture. I added a bit of machine stitching to the top of the picture  for some added texture then added a bit of gold glitter to the edges. Behind the the picture I layered some white tissue paper, (just generic dollar store stuff) 2 paper strips, and a piece of Robin's Nest smoke cardstock.

The arrow paper pieces were made by cutting diagonal lines into a beautiful aqua piece of Robin's Nest paper.

I added gold paint splatters to the cardstock background, a strip of vintage lace at the bottom of the page, and one of the Robin's Nest rubons in the bottom lefthand corner.

I love LOVE dew drops! Where have they been all my life?? They are an amazing, versatile scrapbooking embellishment and I have been using them on EVERYTHING. Plus, the dew dew glue makes it so easy to apply them.

I handmade the white flower using Sculpey clay.

Close-up shot of the simple layers. I love that Robin's Nest offers so many papers that have glitter on them!  I loved working with these products and can't wait to keep creating things to share with you!

party time

Hello!

Today will be a short post, just a page share. :)

A page using some of the Crate Paper Pretty Party line. LOVE it. So many pretty pastel colours and classic Crate patterns.
The picture is from my formal "going away" party.

I love adore those pink flowers by Prima. Gorgeous on anything!
And you can see towards the top of the photo that I "framed" my title with gold  striped washi tape. Currently obsessed with washi. Just ordered 5 more rolls. :)
And for the splatters I used watered down MS gold paint.

Thanks for checking out my blog!!

Pinspiration

I LOVE Pinterest. It quickly turned into an obsession and an inspiration for me.

A few weeks ago, I pinned this and decided to "scraplift" it. This is how it turned out:

I used my square punch to punch out the papers, photos, and doilies.
Don't you just love the Pink Paislee Nantucket papers??

I used raw chipboard letters so that they would be easy to glitter :)

Ruffles.

Hey there, just sharing a page today!

To make the white ruffles behind the photo I used white crepe paper and my sewing machine. Actually very easy to do! I love the extra texture it gives.
I LOVE these American Crafts silver thickers. So versatile!
The photo lifts up to reveal typewritten journaling.
I used Mr Huey's Pinstripe mist to make my splatters.

Detail of the crepe ruffles and silver foil Thickers.
Lots more projects to share this week, so keep checking back :)

And I haven't had a post on the Robin's Nest Blog yet, due to slow Canadian shipping. :( So I'll let you know when my post goes live.
